Steel Grit is made by crushing the fully hardened shot, screening the resulting media and tempering it to a desired hardness. Grit works best in tumblast applications where the eccentric rebound aids coverage. It is used in conting and/or rust removal where speed of cleaning is critical and somewhat rough finish is acceptable.
About GP / GL / GH steel grit
GP: HRC46-50
Made products with angular, the grit are gradually rounded off in use and its particularly suited for oxide skin pretreatment.
GL: HRC56-60
Harder than GP steel grit, also loses its sharp edges during shot basting and is particularly suited to surface preparation applications.
GH: HRC63-65
High hardness, sharp edges remain during operation, mainly used for compressed air shot blasting equipment.
